Former The Real co-host Jeannie Mai revealed she’s dealing with her divorce from Jeezy day by day.
Appearing on The Jennifer Hudson show, the 44-year-old shared her experiences.
“Even though this year, I met the most broken version of me. I also met the strongest version of me… It was kind of hard, so yeah, it’s what I’m dealing with day by day, you know?”
According to People, the TV personality also broke the news that she learned about the divorce “at the same as the rest of the world.”
“When I found out … that my marriage was ending in divorce, I was gutted.”
Jeannie Mai Is Picking Up The Pieces
“[Now] it’s about discovering me and being a mom to the best blessing in my life, my little girl.”
Jeannie Mai referred to her daughter Monaco, whom she shares with Jeezy.
She revealed that Monaco means everything to her.
“She’s just my whole world… reliving my life and reparenting myself through this little girl has been the greatest gift of my life.”
Jeannie Mai also revealed she’s planning to take Monaco to her hometown of San Jose, California.
“This year is the first time Monaco is going to come home to the Bay area for Christmas with me… The thing I love about the Bay is there’s this earthy grit to my friends and the vibe in the Bay … the music sounds better, the food tastes better. And so Monaco is going to experience all of the cultures of the melting point that San Jose has.”
Jeannie Mai also wants her daughter to see her childhood home and learn about their family’s history.
“I want Monaco to feel where I came from and to understand — like, my parents immigrated here, straight to the Bay from Vietnam. And there’s so much life that came from that… We had 15 people living in a three-bedroom home. And she’s going to be in that home and she’s going to see the bedroom that I grew up in … and the history of how our family came together.”
And despite the unpleasantness of the divorce, Jeannie Mai is alright with their daughter spending time with Jeezy so that “she’s able to really experience both sides of our family.”
Jeannie Mai had earlier accused Jeezy of infidelity in their marriage.
She wants the terms of her prenup to be enforced after the accusation.
Jeezy’s response
However, Jeezy denied the accusation, with his representative saying as much.
“Any claim of infidelity on Mr. Jenkins behalf are 100% false and he has no further statements at this time.”
According to TMZ, he also denies the claim that she was blindsided.
Sources close to the couple tell TMZ Hip Hop that Jeannie Mai being blindsided by the divorce filing is absolutely false … ’cause the clear signs of their uncoupling were long established and manifesting right before their eyes.
he couple serially engaged in marriage counseling — with multiple therapists — before Jeezy came to the realization that the relationship was “irretrievably broken.”
No matter who the professional was, it seems like Jeezy walked away with the same answer. Clearly, it would appear he feels the writing was on the wall here … and that Jeannie’s suggestion this came out of nowhere is disingenuous.
