The art of contouring is using makeup to create shadows and highlights to define and shape your features. Now, as we are heading into the Summer heat, a new trend has emerged: non-touring.
So what is non-touring, you ask? Imagine if no-makeup makeup and strobing had a baby that ran off to the beach for spring break!
It’s all about a light, dewy, I-was-just-born-with-it skin and creating that look using your own skin and maybe a little highlighter. It essentially focuses on a fresh and healthy-looking face, so you skip contouring altogether.
This technique is very low-maintenance and easy on the skin because you are wearing a lot less make-up. Unlike the 30minutes to an hour that it takes to do a flawless contoured face. Non-touring requires little time and very little effort.
I don’t know about you, but I personally would rather spend an extra hour sleeping not worrying about making sure my face is beat for a full day of sitting behind the office desk. Also, during the mid-summer months, a fully caked face is a recipe for a sticky mess, so less is more.
Non-touring consists of 3 simple steps:
1. Create a smooth base with your primer. My favorite primer is Philosophy’s ‘The Present’.
2. Even out your face by applying a tinted moisturizer, instead of foundation. My favorite tinted moisturizer is Bobbi Brown’s SPF 15, because it’s very light and still gives good coverage and sun protection too.
3. The last step is highlighting! Add your favorite highlighter to the high points of your face like your cheekbones, nose, and cupids bow. It took me a while to master contouring, but non-touring is super easy, that even a novice can pull it off!
Cheers to quick and easy make-up routines, that still leave you looking fab!
