On Saturday, North Texas’ own Annette Addo-Yobo was crowned Miss Texas 2024.
According to WFAA, she competed as Miss Southlake but also took home the Miss Dallas crown in 2023.

Addo-Yobo is Ghana-born but grew up in Canada and the United States.
She is now an American citizen with deep roots in North Texas.
For instance, she graduated from UTD in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
For Addo-Yobo’s talent portion, she gave a moving spoken word performance promoting autism awareness.
This topic is close to Addo-Yobo’s heart as her brother is on the autism spectrum.
After bringing home the prestigious crown, the model shared her delight (and humbleness) on Instagram.
She wrote:
“The Miss Texas crown is much bigger than me. This crown is for every young child, teenager, and adult on the spectrum who felt alienated, abandoned, stereotyped, and unseen because of their different abilities.”
