According to PEOPLE authorities in Texas have charged the boyfriend of a beloved cheerleading coach and mother of three in her murder after she was found dead last weekend.
William Christian Thomas, 23, of Livingston, was taken into custody on a murder charge in connection with the death of his 24-year-old girlfriend, Rosalin Lewis, local stations KBMT, KETK, and KBTV-TV report, citing the Jasper Police Department.
The reports say he’s being held in the Jasper County Jail on a $1 million bond. It’s unclear if he has entered a plea or retained an attorney to speak on his behalf.
Officers responded to the Myrtis Village apartments in Jasper at about 4 a.m. local time on Nov. 18 and found Lewis dead. Police said her cause of death was determined to be “blunt force trauma,” according to the outlets.
A GoFundMe campaign created by Lewis’ loved ones to help offset funeral expenses states that she is survived by three children, ages 2, 3 and 5.
In the fundraiser she was described as and amazing cheerleading coach and founded “Stunning Stars Cheer & Dance” in her senior year of high school alongside her mother, Schwanda Scott.
“Rosalin’s impact was so amazing that every young girl she trained became a Cheerleader for Jasper High School,” Scott wrote. “Rosalin will truly be missed and her legacy will live on forever with the love and memories from her children, family, team, friends and the Jasper community.”
The investigation is ongoing.
May she RIP praying for her family.
