Content creator Samiyah also known as @MIYLIFESTYLE.CO took to her TikTok to describe her horrible experience working at Korean owned hair brand EBIN New York.
EBIN New York is a very popular cosmetics and beauty company that specializes in hair care, specifically hair extensions, wigs, and related accessories.
They offer a wide range of products designed to enhance and style hair, catering to different textures, colors, and styles.
The company is known for its hair solutions that are popular among black beauty enthusiasts, hairstylists, and professionals in the beauty industry.
With that said, many of us thought EBIN was black owned because of who they serve and the faces that they use to represent their brand.
Samiyah was hired as their content creator/social media Marketing and face of the brand, a job she found via LinkedIn.
However despite doing great work for the brand from day one, she claims she was treated so poorly she would retreat to the bathroom and cry.
She was eventually fired and describes her termination as wrongful.
In her 4 part video series she describes the environment as hostile towards her, her attempts at complaining to HR all failed and even told a story about traveling for work and being placed in an unsafe motel over night.

A black investor enters the chat
Chile as if that wasn’t enough, Antwon entered the chat a few days ago claiming Samiyah’s account of what happened was completely false.
She shared snips of his video on TikTok and in her caption she wrote:
I got time today. What we’re not going to do is make this one video from my first day the one and only problem. That is miniscule compared to everything I have experienced with that company! ????

Boycott Ebin trends
As you can imagine things arent going well for EBIN, there is currently a Change.org petition that now has 700 signatures calling for boycott.
The details of the petition state:
EBIN NY, a brand that has been profiting from the black dollar, stands accused of discriminatory practices against its employees of color. There have been numerous reports indicating that the company has not only treated these employees unfairly but also terminated their employment on unjust grounds. The work conditions under this company are far from ethical, creating an environment that is detrimental to its black employees. This is a clear violation of labor rights and human dignity.
The very consumers they target are the ones they treat poorly in their workplaces. It’s time we take a stand against such unethical business practices and demand justice for those who have suffered under them.
We urge everyone to boycott EBIN NY until they rectify their wrongdoings, improve working conditions, respect all workers regardless of their race or ethnicity, and ensure fair treatment to all its employees. By signing this petition, you’re sending a strong message against discrimination in workplaces everywhere – because every worker deserves respect and fair treatment.
Finding out Ebin NY only had ONE Black woman in the office and they were horrible to her after they hired her as their marketing specialist is insaneeeeee! Everyone want our intel but will maltreat us any and every chance they get
