Showtime has announced the highly anticipated return of its drama series, The Chi, set to premiere on August 4th on Paramount+ and on demand.
According to Deadline, the season will consist of 16 episodes, divided into two eight-episode parts, with the second half set to premiere later.
The Chi is created and executive produced by Lena Waithe and by Common.
The TV drama delves into the lives of residents on the South Side of Chicago, who find themselves intertwined by chance but united by their yearning for connection and redemption.
Chris McCarthy, President/CEO of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios and Paramount Media Networks, expressed enthusiasm for the show.
