Balenciaga unveiled its latest collection, which includes a divisive tape bracelet.
According to The Independent UK, popular account @highsnobiety asked its viewers if they’d buy the brand’s latest bracelet, inspired by regular Scotch tape you’d find at your local store.
The brand’s latest collection follows a scruffy theme, with clear tape and dust bags.
The controversial bracelet resembles a standard roll of tape with the Balenciaga logo.

While some fans were sold on the brand’s theme, others thought it was trying to make poverty look stylish.
“Rich people want to feel poor so bad.”
“Balenciaga just been dropping the junk drawer every year.”
“I just bought one… but it’s from a small indie brand called Scotch.”
One fan even thought it was a joke at first, while another considered the whole brand a joke.
“I swear this whole brand is just a big inside joke.”
This isn’t Balenciaga’s first time courting controversy.
For its Autumn/Winter 2022 collection, the fashion brand debuted the “world’s most expensive trash bag.”
Models strutted through an indoor snowstorm as they clutched their Trash Pouches, inspired by designer Demna Gvasalia’s Georgia upbringing.
The controversial Trash Pouch sold on release for $1,790 (£1,470).
The brand also released dirty and torn trainers for $1,850.
