The world lost a legend tonight! It has been reported that Biz Markie has passed away at 57 years old. His fans have been posting clips and videos celebrating his life and his wife Tara Davis just released a statement of her own.
She said:
A GOOD heart stopped beating this evening… and I was there for the last one….Biz Fought till the end, like the true legend he is.
Biz passed his strength to me during his transition while holding his hand. He knows I’ll need it to carry on the rest of my life without him.
? Rest King Biz! #strongisland #bizmarkie #theladyandthelegend.

Three weeks ago she shared just what kind of Dad Biz was with the following caption:
You can only imagine what kind of Dad Biz is… fun, fun, fun! Happy Father’s Day @officialbizmarkie ..and to all the Loving Fathers out there…keep making memories.
They mean so much to us right now…until we can make more. And as always, thank you for your kind messages, phone calls, video messages and prayers. Biz loves them and is still in it to win it.

When I was a teenager we used to sneak out on Monday night to hit the hottest party in NYC. Soul Kitchen taught how let music live in my body. Whenever we saw Biz on the 1s & 2s we were in awe. He was a genius. Rest In Peace and Soul @BizMarkie
