Blonde Brows eyebrows are emerging as the latest trend following the footsteps of the controversial ’90s-inspired skinny brows that has seemingly taken over our feeds.
Many A-listers have embraced this look back in 2022, including Kendall Jenner, who bleached her brows for the 2022 Met Gala, along with Lizzo, Lily James, Dove Cameron, Bella and Gigi Hadid, Julia Fox, and Amelia Gray.
The thing is, the trend isn’t going anywhere because its 2024 and black women have taken the Blonde Brows trend to new heights.
Why are blonde brows a thing
According to Glamour Magazine back in 2022 celebrity eyebrow specialist Joey Healy, blamed it on the pandemic
The fad is yet another evolution of the ’90s and Y2K aesthetic. “People are looking backward as they are moving forward, and people are willing to take more risks these days,”
“In this world where we are trying to crawl out of the pandemic, people want to experiment with their looks and reinvent themselves with something fresh and new,” Healy continues. “It’s also a very fashion-focused look, and while it can be difficult to pull off, people are ready to take a bold stride and really step outside the box.” He also says that the look was inspired by the runway, where it clearly still reigns supreme, and pioneered by makeup artists like Kevyn Aucoin.
If you were to ask us, we simply think black women continue to embrace the freedom of experimenting with color, throwing the idea of being defined by one aesthetic out of the window.
How to achieve the blonde brow look
Some folks choose to bleach their brows, but experts across the board do not recommend that option.
You can however simply use concealer!
Use your concealer and mascara wand to coat your brows generously, repeat the process until you get your desired look.
Use a qtip to clean up around the brows then use your foundation to define!
