Have you seen the floor length ponytails popping up all over the gram lately? We think it’s time we have a real af conversation about them.
Let’s be honest, there are some hairstyles we tend to wear as a guest to a baby shower…
Or maybe on a random date night with the hubs…
Or to that one birthday party mom is begging you to go to because its her high school bestie, and she wants her to see how you’ve grown. You know the vibes!
And then there is this style!
A ponytail so long you can rope a horse with it on Beyoncé’s Ivy Park Ranch.
We call them ‘hot shot’ styles, the ones you post on the gram to set a ‘bad bih’ mood.
The ones, when you post them up, you anxiously wait for the likes and the comments to roll in.

The fact is, you cannot plan this ponytail with your stylist and not come out looking and feeling like this is your internet.
If you wear this ponytail…… and you aren’t feeling it deep in your soul, just remove it immediately, walk away…call the authorities, go to sleep!
Now that we have set the tone for you, we saved a few of our favorite floor length ponytail looks and we want to share them with you for inspiration!
This is your sign to recreate this look yourself!
Let’s begin.. shall we!
Nafessa Williams
This was from 2019, the stylist is Kee or @sosheargenious and the pictures are of actress Nafessa Williams.
We can’t say definitively that Kee was the first to ever do it, but sh*t…sis sure was early!
Then Nafessa Williams pulled out the ponytail again earlier this year and posted a lil baddie Reel for the gram:

2. Storm Reid
Our good sis hit the red carpet wearing custom PRADA and a ponytail braid so long it made a little circle on the ground.

You can’t tell us, Storm wasn’t feeling good!
Look at how she is holding it? – She was like, try me if you want to, I came to slay…
3. Oh and Remy Ma
Remy Ma hit the gram recently wearing Burberry neck to, to waist, to toe, telling her followers that she was serving the baddest Lara Croft any gamer could ask for.
Her ponytail is a 5 strand floor length Ombre braid, and the expected “stuntin’ on em” comments rolled in like high tide on a Summer evening.
Give it to em sis! (Fat Joe voice)
Model Serenity @Ovorenny, created her own version to the braid, for a photoshoot that was absolutely gorgeous.

She killed it!
The moral of the story is, the floor length ponytail is a vibe, it’s a moment, and you should do one, do all of it!

They all got it from @biancabelair I Stan!
