Celine Dion is battling Stiff-Person Syndrome, and she’s just lost control of her muscles.
According to TMZ, sister Claudette Dion revealed the unhappy news about the disease that causes excruciating muscle spasms.
Claudette added that Celine won’t return to the stage for a while.
“In our dreams and in hers, the idea is to return to the stage. In what state? I do not know.”
The news broke her heart because Celine has always been hard-working and disciplined, but her success is under threat.
Research into Stiff-Person Syndrome is ongoing, but because the illness is rare, there is little progress–which Claudette doesn’t understand.
Claudette also fears a cure might never be found.
Celine Dion Has Battled This Disease For A While
Celine Dion revealed last December that she was suffering from Stiff-Person Syndrome.
Shortly after, she canceled her planned 2023 concert dates.
“I’ve been dealing with problems with my health for a long time, and it’s been really difficult for me to face these challenges … Unfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I’m used to.”
This September, the singer revealed she was doing everything to recover, but she couldn’t control her spasms.
We wish the iconic singer a quick recovery from this devastating illness.
