According to Yahoo Sports LSU blitzed Iowa with a stunning offensive showing on Sunday for a 102-85 win to secure the NCAA championship.
The LSU point total was the highest ever in a women’s basketball championship game.
Iowa star Caitlin Clark got off to a torrid star and finished the game with 30 points and a handful of her own NCAA records.
But a second-quarter onslaught by Jasmine Carson and the LSU bench proved too much to overcome as the Tigers secured the program’s first national title in Kim Mulkey’s second year as head coach.
The win marks a stunning turnaround for a program that finished 9-13 just two seasons ago.
The national title is Mulkey’s fourth as a head coach, with her previous three at Baylor.

The win does not come without controversy as ‘no class’ trends on Twitter because of Angela Reese’s gestures towards Iowa’s Caitlyn Clark.
Opinions are split, some call the move ugly, and others say she is doing exactly what Caitlyn did a week ago.

Super ugly sportsmanship by Angel Reese towards Caitlin Clark considering how terrible the refs were on Iowa’s gameplay.. hated to see it pic.twitter.com/ZzLTSy2Cfv

This is so gross. Happened all game and no techs. Meanwhile Iowa got called for absolutely doing nothing. Such an unattractive cowardly move pic.twitter.com/oVM3pJDm98

SC was “a group of thugs”
LSU “has no class”
But Iowa “does it the right way” even when Clark did exactly that the same a week ago…I’m sensing some undertones https://t.co/kTPyRdl4ui— Tyger Munn (@TygerMunn) April 2, 2023

So Caitlin Clark does the ‘YOU CANT SEE ME’ and y’all loved it. Now when Angel Reese does it you call it poor sportsmanship.
Iowa fans: just accept you lost fair and square. Caitlin deserved the tech, Kim Mulkey did nothing wrong. The officiating was fine.#WFinalFour pic.twitter.com/YqWBWbgqtY
