A federal jury has cleared Rock-A-Fella founder Damon Dash in a lawsuit that claimed he sexually assaulted a photographer as she slept, according to Billboard.
Photographer Monique Bunn sued him in 2019, claiming he sexually assaulted her as she slept at his house.
Bunn added defamation charges to her case after Dash publicly accused her of charging thousands of dollars to his credit card without permission.
“Following a four-day trial, the jury found Wednesday that Dash was not liable for sexual assault.” Billboard
The jury believed Dash when he argued the claims were ridiculous.
However, the jury still gave Bunn $30,000 in damages for the defamation claims–a drop in the ocean compared to the millions she sought.
Damon Dash Allegedly Groped Her During A Shoot
Law360 broke the news of the verdict, revealing that Bunn testified the Roc-A-Fella founder groped her at his house in 2019 during a photo shoot.
When asked what she felt, she said:
something on the left side of my like lower back onto my butt, down my thigh.
Bunn added that Damon Dash responded by claiming she had robbed him, which effectively ended her career.
According to Bunn, Dash made her lose everything she’d worked so hard to get.
Dash’s Side of The Story
In his testimony, however, Damon Dash countered her allegations.
The hip-hop mogul claimed the claims were ridiculous.
He denied any count of misconduct and accused Bunn of being a con artist making false accusations.
After the jury cleared him, Bunn made a statement thanking the jury for their verdict.

Bunn added that after four years of litigation, she was glad to finally put the case behind her and move forward with her life.
Bunn can still appeal the verdict.
However, if it took them four years to decide, reviving the case might affect her for the next half-decade.
