NeNe Leakes, once a prominent figure in reality TV, is facing a lawsuit over unpaid rent tied to her now-defunct Swagg Boutique.
According to TMZ, the Sugarloaf Mills shopping center landlord in Georgia asserts that Leakes has an outstanding balance of $22,900.
This amount supposedly accumulated after she left the property in January 2022, in line with her lease terms.
Records indicate that Leakes entered into a lease contract back in 2017 and chose to extend it for an additional year in 2021.

In a recent Fulton County, GA lawsuit, the landlord attached a letter urging NeNe Leakes to settle the amount or brace for legal proceedings.
The letter, penned on July 19, 2023, clearly outlines the landlord’s demand for the payment of $22,900.75 within a ten-day window.
It further warns that failure to comply will lead the landlord to exercise all available legal options, including associated court expenses, recovering overdue rent, and attorney fees.
Leakes’ Swagg Boutiques ceased operations in 2020, a decision influenced by the pandemic.
However, the landlord’s claim not only encompasses the unpaid rent but also seeks compensation for legal representation costs.
While attempts to get a statement from NeNe Leakes‘ representatives remain ongoing, this isn’t her first brush with such allegations.
In February, she was directed to pay $1,150 to a photographer who alleged non-payment for services rendered by the former reality TV personality.
Nene did address the allegations in the comment section on Instagram, saying Gregg signed the lease.
