Back in December a video of Young M.A made its rounds on Twitter of the rapper with a cane and driving a scooter in the grocery store.
At that time Hot 97 shared the video saying ‘prayers up’.

Young M.A Speaks out
On Wednesday Young M.A spoke out on the matter defending her barber who received tons of backlash for sharing her video in the first place.
The video was originally shared by @fatsdabarber, with Young M.A reposting it to her Instagram Stories.
It was then reshared to Twitter by @SaycheeseDGTL where it got over 7.7 million views.
On Instagram stories he wrote:
Yall got so much to say as if I trying to embarrass my dawg she reposted my video if she didn’t want me to record she would have told me. Yall don’t know our bond or our friendship what yall need to do is just send your prayers for her and that’s that she didn’t have a haircut in a month and she wanted me to bring her haircut back to life which I did!!!!! Thank you sis for coming and ricking with me always love ya”
Young M.A cosigned the message saying:
“We blessed don’t let that get to u blooda and I told you it was like 4 months” – seemingly referring to how long she has not had a cut.

Young M.A. Reflects on Struggles With Alcohol
Even though people are speculating about MA’s health on Twitter she has been very vocal about her own health issues, much of which she talks about in her music.
One Twitter user reminded us about a 2017 video where she addressed her struggles.
“Young ma has depression and battles with her mental health using liquor,” the post began. “Recently a video of her resurfaced with yellow eyes and yellow skin, which is a sign of liver failure. She’s dying right before our eyes and people are laughing.”
I woke up with yellow eyes myself because of binge drinking 6 days ago. THANKFULLY because of the universe’s grace, it was only fatty liver. Fatty liver is 100% reversible but for young ma’s case, I pray it is too. My skin wasn’t yellow like hers

Young M.A. checked into rehab in 2021 to beat her addiction issues.
Back then she said:
“MAB I’ll be back…boutta lose this addiction…omw (on my way) to rehab,” she penned in June 2021. She also shared a prayer on Twitter.
“Loving God, I pray that you will comfort me in my suffering,” she tweeted. “Lend skill to the hands of my healers, and bless the means used for my cure. Give me such confidence in the power of your grace, that even when I am afraid, I may put my whole trust in you.”

Update: Young M.A says she is on the mend
According to TMZ Young M.A. addressed the viral video that sparked concerns over the condition of her health, telling TMZ Hip Hop she’s bouncing back after a string of medical scares.
“As many of my supporters know I’ve been dealing with various personal health issues the last few years. I recently was hospitalized and was successfully treated for several conditions. I’m doing better now, will take some time but I’m on the road to recovery and look forward to the future!!!”
She continues, “Rest assured I’m in good spirits and everything will be explained in the MUSIC … plus a documentary. Love y’all MAB! Don’t worry I’m good!”
Young M.A., however, wouldn’t disclose specifics on exactly what she’s been battling.
ICYMI, a video of the rapper at a barbershop blew up online where M.A appeared to be slurring her speech and her eyes looked yellow in color. Regardless, she says better things are on the way.
It’s been nearly 2 years since the Brooklyn MC’s last full-length project dropped, so there’s plenty of anticipation on what she’ll release next … once she’s got her health issues totally under control and headed in the right direction.
