The official cause of death for Jacky Oh, a five-season cast member of MTV’s “Wild ‘n Out,” has been disclosed as of Friday.
The reality TV personality, known by her real name, Jacklyn Marie Smith, passed away at the age of 33 on May 31 due to complications arising from cosmetic surgery, as reported by the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner’s Office.
According to an Exclusive with Page Six the manner of death was ruled an accident.
The report, obtained by Page Six Friday, details that she had gone for a “gluteal augmentation procedure” on May 30, during which there were zero complications.
She was prescribed various medications such as Ciprofloxacin (antibiotic), Oxycodone (painkiller) and Ondansetron (anti-nausea) post-surgically.
Oh, whose real name was Jacklyn Smith, then developed an unrelenting headache and was advised to take ibuprofen and cease the Ondansetron by a nurse.
On May 31, Smith “began to feel like her head was burning” and then began to have “difficulty speaking,” the report states.
Smith’s aunt called emergency services, and by the time they arrived, Smith had become unresponsive.
The TV personality was pronounced dead at the hospital. She was 33.
The autopsy also states that Smith had swelling in her brain and excessive bleeding of the skin around her torso.
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Jacklyn Smith, known to the world as Jacky Oh, a talented Wild N’ Out family member whose impact will be forever treasured and missed,” BET said in a statement at the time.
Young Fly, who shared three children with the TV personality, shared a heartbreaking statement on social media following her shocking death.
“You are the GREATEST MOTHER I KNOW your soul was beautiful You always wanted the best for others and I admired how our family love each other!!!” he wrote.
Never had to worry about our kids loving each other cause you were on top of Dat!!!”
Smith traveled to Miami to undergo a “mommy makeover” from famed plastic surgeon Zachary “Dr. Zach” Okhah.
It was later revealed that Okhah sued multiple of his former patients who claimed on public review sites that he had “mutilated” them.
Okhah went after a woman named Leila Penn in July 2021 for more than $30,000 after she wrote a RealSelf review that alleged he had “mutilated” her.
The “BBL specialist” claimed in court documents obtained by Page Six exclusively that Penn’s statements were “false” and defamatory.
He later voluntarily dismissed the lawsuit without prejudice, meaning it can’t be brought up again, in December 2021.
About a month after Smith died, Okhah reassured his patients that his “reputation for safety is exemplary.”
“I’m not willing to operate, without exception, if my preoperative protocols for medical clearance are not wholly met,” he explained in a video.
If Jacky Oh complained to her surgeon in post-opp that she was having a headache, why was that taken lightly ?
Why was she experiencing excess bleeding on her torso?
This sounds like possible neglect . Smh
