In GloRilla’s song with Cardi B, “Tomorrow 2,” she raps about how she loves tomorrow because the sun doesn’t shine every day.
Recently, the rapper revealed details about her life before becoming famous, which proves the song’s message.
The Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast recently interviewed the Memphis rapper, who revealed all about her pre-fame life.
GloRilla’s Grind Was Real
Growing up, GloRilla, born Gloria Hallelujah Woods, sang in her church’s choir.
However, after losing her voice, she had to find another passion.
When Woods turned sixteen, she started rapping.
In 2019, the rapper released her debut mixtape, “Most Likely Up Next.”
This time, Woods worked at Walmart to make ends meet.
But the rapper never gave up on hip hop, releasing her new EP in 2020.
In 2021, GloRilla quit her Walmart job to devote her entire time to growing her rap career.
Rising Against Constant Disappointments
GloRilla faced numerous disappointments in her early rap career.
She didn’t make much money and lost her cars and apartment, forcing Woods to live with her friends.
Woods had almost lost everything and considered going back to work.
Things were dire for the rapper.
Finally Getting Her Big Break
Despite her grim situation, the rapper never gave up on rapping.
And in 2022, she released a song called “FNF (Let’s Go)” with Hitkidd.
The song gained millions of YouTube views and went viral on TikTok through the #FNFChallenge.
Woods’ time had finally come.
The rapper signed to Yo Gotti’s CMG imprint three months after releasing the hit song.
She then drew the attention of superstar Cardi B, who collaborated with the rapper on “Tomorrow 2.”
GloRilla has gone from a struggling rapper to a global superstar in eight months.
She dropped her latest EP, “Anyways, Life’s Great…” in November 2022.
The rapper’s debut album will drop soon, and we’re excited to listen to it.
