After being silent for almost two years after being released from jail, Gunna has finally addressed the snitching allegations and his relationship with Young Thug.
According to Complex, the 30-year-old rapper was implicated as an affiliate of Young Thug’s YSL collective.
Authorities charged the rapper in a RICO case involving gang-related activity.
After spending seven months in prison, Gunna was released with a plea deal.
He was accused of snitching, but his lawyer quickly denied the accusations.
“Gunna did not snitch to get out of jail. He has said nothing and is not cooperating. His plea statement cannot be used in court against any other defendant. So please stop spreading lies.”
Gunna Addressed His Relationship With Young Thug
Gunna shared his relationship with Young Thug on XXL.
“It’s the same. It’s love, always. Our relationship is our relationship.”
He also addressed snitching allegations from other rappers like Lil Baby, 21 Savage, and Lil Durk.
He revealed they aren’t involved in the case and “don’t know legally what’s going on.”
“I talked to like, maybe like, two or three of those guys. I talked to them on the phone. I definitely feel like everybody’s been misled. And like, you know, when you’re being misled, you got a choice to follow or make your own decisions. And that’s what is being shown right now. You’re being a follower or you’re being neutral to be like, ‘I don’t know what their business is or what they really got goin’ on.'”
To move past his legal troubles, Gunna has committed to self-improvement.
He lost almost 40 pounds in prison and still works out.
“I got a trainer. I work out six days a week. I eat better. I eat clean. And that’s something I’m disciplining myself to do every day. It’s something that I’m liking, though. I feel better when I work out.”
On Monday, the rapper announced a new album.
It includes singles “Prada Dem” with Offset and “Bittersweet.”
“This album is still showing growth. Showing me growing into a man because I’ve been more disciplined. I’ve been tapping into different things. I’ve been living in a different space. I feel like you’ll hear that in the music. Me being creative and tapping with my voice, doing sounds, doing different melodies. I just feel like you’re gon’ feel me evolve.”
