There is a definite shift that is happening in health and cosmetic care and if you love ‘convenience healthcare’ then when I share my Alpha Medical experience I think you will be intrigued.
Before I get into that though let me tell you a story! Last Christmas my 6yr old son was diagnosed with the flu by a doctor on a computer screen and her assistant sitting in my living room swabbing his nose.
It was 12 AM on Christmas night and as bad as the situation was I couldn’t help but express how impressed I was with the whole telemedicine experience and the sheer ease of the process.
My son was made comfortable for the night and we picked up the prescription the next day! After that, I knew I would never again be limited by making an appointment and waiting 2 days to see a doctor again.
Fast forward to earlier this April when I decided to try the health services brand Alpha Medical.
Alpha offers hormonal contraceptives, a full skin care line dedicated to acne and anti-aging treatment and cosmetic therapy with a full team of doctors and nurse practitioners who offer support for the modern woman.
Now ladies, if you have been reading my blog for a while then you know I may or may not be a bit older and I am every bit of obsessed with anything that helps with anti-aging, ‘anti- sagging’ and ‘anti – extra lines’ especially if it’s prescribed just for me.
I was particularly interested in Alpha’s full line of dermatologist approved prescription skin care line and since my lashes noticeably lacking, I decided to also try Latisse – an FDA approved treatment specifically designed to grow longer lashes.
The Process and My Alpha Experience
I am not going to lie the instructions that I read in order to get the process started kind of shocked me because of how easy it was. Literally, all I did was answer a few questions for the doctors, uploaded pictures of my skin and lashes and waited for their response.
I later received an email from an Alpha Clinician who confirmed that I was approved with a full description of how to use the treatment. Within a few days, I received all of my prescribed product!
Yes! Another convenient healthcare service that accepts insurance with the added bonus of free!
Prescription Vs. drug store
Admit it! When it comes to making cosmetic choices, many of us tend to run to the drug store armed with very little research trying this and trying that in a desperate attempt to decipher between what is actually helpful and what’s trendy.
Personally, I have watched entire youtube videos in the aisle in order to determine what to buy for my skin, which is not fun, trust me! On top of that, even with my research and the money I have spent, many of my products turn out to be duds.
I highly recommend that you seek professional help even once for preventative skin care because nothing compares to products tailored just for you and professional help at your fingertips if you need clarification on anything.
The Alpha process eliminated the confusion and gave the option of talking directly to someone who is trained to guide you without all the noise.
What I received
Latisse
Latisse is an FDA approved eyelash treatment that according to the Alpha Medical website “is approved for the purpose of growing longer and thicker eyelashes. It is a 0.03% bimatoprost ophthalmic solution and was originally a prostaglandin prescribed in the treatment of glaucoma. Doctors found that patients using bimatoprost ophthalmic solution experienced the curious side effect of thicker and longer eyelashes.”
Latisse has been on the market for the last 10 years and mine looks like this:
The verdict is still out on my lashes as this is not meant to be an overnight process but I expect to see results pretty soon.
Alpha Skin
For my skin, I received A cleanser, a recovery cream, retinol serum and of course sunscreen!
The products are to die for, my face and neck feel so hydrated after every single use and even though I did not suffer from acne I can tell when my skin is conditioned and glowing.
If you are like me and you love the convenience of having the option of professional help with prescription skin care, lash care or birth control, you should try Alpha and see if it works for you.
If this will be your first online healthcare experience then I would love to hear what you thought about it, come back to this post and comment below!
