American Idols is a platform that has created multiple superstars like Kelly Clarkson, Fantasia, Rubben Studdard, and Candice Glover.
And, of course, Jordin Sparks.
The former American Idol and Platinum-selling singer is worth $8 million.
But before we see where she is now and her investments, let’s look at how she started.
American Idol
When she was a teenager, Jordin Sparks was not in doubt.
She won most of the talent competitions she participated in, including:
- America’s Most Talented Kids
- Drug-Free AZ Superstar Search
- Colgate Country Showdown
- Coca-Cola’s Rising Star
Sparks also sang the national anthem at many local sporting events for teams like the Arizona Diamondbacks, Arizona Cardinals, and Phoenix Suns.
So, when Sparks finally appeared on American Idol during its sixth season, she was sure of her talent.
After a shaky start, Sparks improved during the season and eventually won.
Her victory made Jordin Sparks the youngest American Idol winner in history (she was still just 17); amazingly, this record still stands.
Music Career
After winning American Idols, Jordin Sparks became the first Idol winner to sign to Jive Records/19 Recordings.
She soon released her debut single, “Tattoo,” which sold over two million copies in the United States alone.
Sparks released her self-titled debut album soon after, and it was a runaway hit, selling over 1 million copies and getting airplay worldwide.
Sparks released three subsequent albums:
- Battlefield (2009)
- Right Here Right Now (2015)
- Cider & Hennessy (2020)
The last two albums didn’t have a significant impact like her first and second albums.
However, this didn’t deter the singer.
Acting Career
Jordin’s first acting credit came in “The Suite Life on Deck,” where she played herself.
She got other supporting roles in “Big Time Rush” and “When I Was 17” the following year.
Sparks then showed her talent as a voice actress in “Team Umizoomi” and finally showed her acting chops in a feature film in 2012’s “Sparkle.”
Since then, Jordin Sparks has appeared in various animations, TV shows, and reality shows like:
- CSI
- American Music Awards
- RuPaul’s Drag Race
- The Real O’Neals
- Miss America 2018
- Hell’s Kitchen
- The Masked Dancer
- Rugrats
Endorsements
Jordin Sparks is no stranger to working with brands to promote their products.
In 2008, she partnered with Avon; the cosmetics line hired Sparks as the spokesperson for their line, Mark.
In the same year, Sparks also launched her girl-centric clothing line, Sparks, thanks to a collaboration with Wet Seal.
In 2010, Sparks followed this up with her new fragrance, Because of You…
The fragrance was so successful that the singer released another one, Fascinate, in 2012 and a third one, Ambition.
Real Estate
Sparks bought her Hollywood Hills home, which has a view of the famous Hollywood sign, in 2013 for $1.5 million.
In 2017, she listed it for $1.85 million.
