Move over baby shower meatballs this baby shower was all about the fairytales! Keke Palmer celebrated her baby boy over the weekend, along with her boyfriend Darius Jackson with tons of family and friends.
According to the Daily Mail the actress gave her 11.9 million followers a look at the festive affair with numerous videos and photos, all while showing off her growing baby bump.
The former Disney Channel and Nickelodeon child star, 29, could be seen making the rounds at the high-energy party, decked out in a cute brown maxi dress and her raven tresses pulled up into a flirty updo with a side part.
She opted to go with minimal jewelry, but in some posts, she donned a crown on her head.
Seemingly playing the role of hostess, the actress mainly danced and sang her way around the shower-turned-party, especially when she arrived in the room where the DJ was dropping tunes that had the guests dancing.
‘A long time ago, in a land not so far… The King and Queen got together to play.
The play turned to love as many sunsets passed by. Now there’s a prince, who’s soon to arrive!’ Palmer wrote in the caption of her Instagram post.
At one point, Palmer could be seen getting down on the dance floor, literally, by squatting down close to the ground, all while the beat of the music had her and others in a dance frenzy.
There were also assorted games for people to play, and arts and crafts, which appeared to all be a hit with the guests.
The singer went public with her pregnancy news during a Saturday Night Live episode in December.
While chatting about the possible zodiac sign of her new baby, Palmer said, ‘I don’t want to be too blunt for my baby boy.’ She also hinted that she may give birth in March, which would mean her son would be a Pisces or an Aries.
‘Pisces are known to be very deep, very emotional creatures,’ the Harvey, Illinois native explained. ‘I don’t want to be too … tell it like it is,’ she joked, while adding, ‘I need to wade in the water with a Pisces, just keep it chill.’
Who is Darius Jackson
Jackson works in fitness and the entertainment industry, and runs a YouTube channel for his workouts, according to Capital Xtra, while his younger brother, Sarunas Jackson, appeared in the HBO show Insecure which was created by Issa Rae.
The couple started their romance in 2021, and now will expand their family when the baby boy arrives in the next couple of months.
Keke said:
“It became more difficult to hide,” she said of choosing to post photos with Jackson at the time. “We spend all this time together, and he really is my closest friend, so it just becomes a thing where I’m not gonna hide something that makes me happy.”
“It’s not gonna be everything you see, my job is my job, but at the end of the day this is somebody that is important to me so why not,”
According to People The couple reportedly met in May 2021 at a Memorial Day party hosted by Issa Rae and Diddy. That August, the two went “Instagram official” as Jackson paid tribute to Palmer on her birthday.
“Never would have expected summer 2021 to turn out the way it did, but here we are,” he wrote in the since-deleted post. “I’m glad we were able to help each other throughout our lowest of times & show one another that what we are bringing to the table is everything that we got.”
