Ya’ll its the end of an era! Most of us in the natural hair community have ‘grown up’ with the CURLBOX brand for over 10 years and on Friday, Myleik Teele, the founder, announced that they are bidding us farewell.
As most of you know CURLBOX, is a subscription-based beauty brand that focuses on delivering hair care products specifically designed for women with curly hair/afro textured hair.
The brand was launched in 2011, in the height of the natural hair movement and quickly gained popularity among women of color who were seeking access to a variety of high-quality hair care products.
The concept was brilliant because most of us were in our product junkie BAG.. you hear me!!!
We needed a solution that would facilitate trying different products as we reinvented what it meant to care for black afro textured hair.
Myleik Teele has been instrumental in creating a community around CURLBOX, offering not only hair care products but also educational resources and content for women seeking to embrace and care for their natural hair.
As as if that wasn’t enough she leveraged social media and her podcast, “My Taught You,” to share advice, tips, and insights on entrepreneurship and personal growth.
On Instagram the inspirational founder said:
Have you ever had a dream with no idea how to bring it to life, only to have God line up the plays until you saw it through? Have you ever committed to providing thousands people with a box of hair products to try for 127 months? When I think about the amount of pressure I put on myself for over a decade, I am in AWE of what is possible. We are ABLE.
And now it is my time to say goodbye. ? Thank you for EVERYTHING. This will go down I history as a DREAM COME TRUE.
To EVERY brand that ever gave me a chance, I THANK YOU. ✨
To every person that lent their talent to the dream, THANK YOU.
Here’s to more dreaming. ??✨
Myleik Teele’s CURLBOX brand has been a masterclass for inspiration, self-love, and indulgence for the natural hair community … cheers to the next chapter.
CURLBOX’S final box will be in July.
