Jamie Foxx made his first public appearance since his medical scare in April at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards.
According to ABC, the 55-year-old choked back tears as he accepted the Vanguard Award for his breathtaking performance in “The Burial.”
“I want to thank everybody. I’ve been through something. I’ve been through some things. You know, it’s crazy I couldn’t do that six months ago, I couldn’t actually walk… So it feels good to be here. I cherish every single minute now. It’s different.”

Jamie Foxx revealed he wouldn’t want even his worst enemy to go through a similar ordeal.
“I wouldn’t wish what I went through on my worst enemy, ’cause it’s tough, when you almost – when it’s almost over. When you see the tunnel. I saw the tunnel, I didn’t see no light. It was hot in that tunnel.”
The actor didn’t tell us the exact issue he went through.
However, his daughter Corinne Foxx revealed he was rushed to the ER while filming “Back in Action.”
Foxx also described how the incident gave him a new appreciation for life.
“Don’t give up on your art and don’t let them take the art from you, either.”
