Jonathan Majors has lost another film role.
According to CNN, the 34-year-old actor won’t portray Dennis Rodman in the former NBA star’s biopic, 48 Hours in Vegas.
The actor was announced to play the basketball legend over a year ago.
Lionsgate was set to produce the film, but they are no longer involved.
Instead, the production duties have returned to producers Christ Miller, Phil Lord, and Aditya Sood.
Hollywood Studios Are Dropping Jonathan Majors Fast
In December, the actor was found guilty of recklessly causing physical injury, misdemeanor assault in the third degree, and harassment in the second degree after a domestic altercation with then-girlfriend Grace Jabbari.
Jonatan Majors’ defense attorney, Priya Chaudhry, released a statement post-verdict.
“It is clear that the jury did not believe Grace Jabbari’s story of what happened in the SUV because they found that Mr. Majors did not intentionally cause any injuries to her. We are grateful for that.”
“We are disappointed, however, that despite not believing Ms. Jabbari, the jury nevertheless found that Mr. Majors was somehow reckless while she was attacking him… Mr. Majors still has faith in the process and looks forward to fully clearing his name.”
After the verdict, Marvel Studios confirmed that it had cut ties with the actor, even though he was to star in several upcoming MCU films.
Last week, the actor spoke for the first time since his trial.
“How is that possible? Based off the evidence, based off the prosecution’s evidence, let alone our evidence… It’s about responsibility and coming forward and being brave and giving my part of the story.”
Jonathan Majors will head back to court on February 6, and could face a year in jail.
