In early December, Lil Mo was a guest on the Don’t Call Me White Girl podcast.
According to Vibe, the singer spoke about her upbringing, kids, her stint on reality TV, past marriages, and more.
Close to the 90-minute mark, Mo revealed that she had an opioid addiction, but no one knew about it.
“You wanna know what’s crazy? Google it. You’ll never see me do a drug. One thing I learned from my daddy ’cause my daddy don’t play about me. My dad is 70 years old—’never do anything that will disrespect the family name or compromise your integrity,’ so the only reason why y’all know I was on drugs is because I said it.”
“It upset me what I allowed… People don’t understand; Addiction is real… I [was] spending at least a stack a week and I’m making sure everybody good…When I go to California, when we touch down, when I say everything was laid out—everything. Coke, pills, syrup—lit down. And I’ll get up there and sing and you would never know that I’m literally burnt the f**k out.”
