January 11 is Mary J Blige’s birthday, and the queen of R&B celebrated by releasing the music video for “Gone Forever.”
The song featuring DJ Khaled and Remy Ma appeared on her 2022 album, “Good Morning Gorgeous (Deluxe).”
Mary J Blige Doesn’t Mince Words In The Song
In the song, Blige tells her love interest that she won’t allow anyone to play with her emotions.
“‘Cause when a good girl’s gone / She’s gone forever / Now you gotta deal with the fact you did me wrong forever.”
In the music video, Blige shows off different stunning looks at a club, having fun with friends and enjoying wine.
DJ Khaled and Remy Ma also appear in the video.
“Gone Forever” comes from Blige’s 2022 album, which was nominated for a Grammy award.
It’s the first video the singer has released from the album since 2022’s “Come See About Me” with Fabolous.
Mary J Blige returned in October 2023 with a new single, “Still Believe in Love,” with rapper Vado.
According to Rated R&B, she released an accompanying video set in Italy.
“Still Believe in Love” has remained at No. 1 for three weeks on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart, becoming the musician’s longest-running No. 1 song on the chart since 2017’s “U + Me (Love Lesson).”
Later in January, Mary J Blige will receive the honorary Entertainment Icon Award at the 2024 Urban One Honors.
Michelle L. Rice, the president of CLEO TV and TV One, is proud to hand over the prestigious award.
“Mary’s immeasurable talent and award-winning music has shaped our culture and has had a profound impact on artists and music across all genres, but most notably the elevation of female artists in both R&B and Hip Hop across generations. She fully personifies the ‘Best in Black’ theme of this year’s Urban One Honors.”
