Having Beyonce as your mentor can only be good, and Megan Thee Stallion is reaping the benefits.
According to Vibe, Megan revealed to Shannon Sharpe that she got the idea for launching her first tequila after talking to Beyonce.
“Beyoncé is actually the person that inspired me to get my own tequila… Because I used to be the cognac queen. I still am the cognac queen. But as much as I used to enjoy cognac, and I’ve promoted a lot of people’s liquor brands, she was like, ‘The next time I see you, you better have your own. You need to have your own alcohol.’”
Megan Thee Stallion added:
“When I was in the situation with [1501] and I wanted to get out of it, [Bey and JAY-Z] told me you need to do this on your own. Like, ‘You already know what it is. You already have all the tools. All the legal s**t you are going through, I know you are learning something. So you should figure out how to get out here and be your own boss.’”

In April, the Houston-bred rapper teased the launch of her first tequila brand.
She said:
“I create the things that I want to see, I don’t create things for other people to like them… I create the music I want to hear, I go and do my own thing and stay true to me. As long as you keep doing things that are true to you and feel good to you, you’ll get the audience you want to attract. You don’t want to be a walking commercial. You should do things that make you feel good […] you’ll create more moments that way.”
In May, Megan Thee Stallion let fans try out the tequila during the Hot Girl Summer Tour.
While Megan hasn’t revealed the release date, we eagerly await it.
