A wise woman once said “You know you that b*tch when you cause all this conversation”, and what a conversation it has been.
As previously reported Beyonce and Jay Z have been criticized for posing with a never before seen Basquiat painting owned by Tiffany.
In addition to that Beyonce is facing criticism for posing with the exclusive 1877 Tiffany’s Diamond.
She is the first black woman to do it, and only the fourth woman to wear it. The three previous wearers were Mrs. E. Sheldon Whitehouse in 1957, Audrey Hepburn in 1961, and Lady Gaga in 2019.
The diamond is 128.54 carats and she wore it as part of the Tiffany campaign also starring Jay-Z:
The Problem
The yellow diamond was mined in Kimberly South Africa in 1877 and it is one of the largest diamonds of its kind to have ever been found.
The diamond was purchased by Tiffany & Co. founder Charles Lewis Tiffany in 1878, and it has been with the company ever since.
With that said, people are calling for the Diamond to be returned to South Africa because it was originally stolen.
Here are a few of the tweets:

And:
Colonialism makes me sick in the stomach. Even in 2021 it’s still thrown in our face. Like some guy was just walking and he discovered it. Then try to sell the exclusivity that @Beyonce is the first black person to wear it when n it was stolen from Africans. Disgusting!

Que in Ms. Tina Lawson
Ms. Tina decided to address the issue head-on, as she usually does when anyone criticizes her children.
She wrote:
How many of you socially conscious activists own diamonds? I thought so !
Well guess what did you go to try to check to see where the diamond came from? Probably not !
So when you guys get engaged you won’t have a diamond you gonna put on a sterling silver band And you better check out where it came from and the origin of where came from and why you add it check out the calls for the Leather that you weird because they made it came from another country to ban and not buy diamonds right because your righteous !!”
There are quite a few people on Twitter who are calling others out for their hypocrisy, because much of the uproar seems to be more about Beyonce, than the deep-rooted history of mining and diamonds.
Funny none of this when Audrey Hepburn wore the diamond, no boycott of the movie, but suddenly for Beyoncé it’s an issue.
