Muni Long is showing us that she’s a bonafide hit maker with her latest song, “Made For Me.”
The latest single has debuted on the Billboard Hot 100.
According to Vibe, the track is already a viral hit on TikTok.
The track–produced by Bryan-Michael Cox and Jermaine Dupri–is currently at No. 3 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart and No. 2 on the R&B Digital Song Sales chart.
The song also became Long’s first #1 record on R&B radio in December.
Muni Long Has Made Another Banger
The track’s official music video has already reached 2 million views just 8 days after its premiere.
Long went for AI-inspired visuals directed by Des Gray and Trinidad James.
“I wanted to have fun with this video and really think outside of the box. It’s my little nod to A.I. mixed with Frankenstein. If you want to find the perfect person in a limited dating pool, you might just have to create them! It’s only science fiction for now, but with how fast technology is changing, could this be our reality someday?”
Muni Long also revealed that her favorite lyric in the song is the simplicity of when she sings “twin.”
“It’s something that we say a lot like when you really connect with somebody and even like there’s a lot of trends right now on social media about twin flames. There’s one really funny one that’s like, ‘I’m tired of getting mistaken for my twin’ and it’ll be two people that look nothing alike.”
Muni Long also noted the song is how she keeps in tune with the culture.
“That’s how I know it’s the right time for a song […] I called it being in tune with the zeitgeist. It’s like because I was obedient with that, I’m right on time with what people wanna hear and what’s going on culturally.”
