Shaquille O’Neal is stepping back into the rap game!
He has teamed up with LA-based rap group Coyote with rappers Ladies Love Guapo and Ricky Blanco.
Together, the trio delivered a fresh track with a music video.
This song has already started making waves.
In an exclusive chat with TMZ Sports, Ladies Love Guapo shared the backstory of their collaboration.
“[Shaq] was like as long as it’s some hardcore stuff, I’m down. So we made a hardcore hip hop ’90s-type song and we’re like ‘Bro, let’s send it to Shaq,’ and he got on it, did his thing, he spit like 32 bars. He went off!”
Guapo also revealed that Shaquille O’Neal wanted the vibe to be hardcore.
So, they crafted a ’90s-style hardcore hip-hop track and sent it to him.
“4 hours later he FaceTimes us and he shows us his verse and he went crazy! He’s rapping better than 90% of rappers out there.”
And the basketball legend’s commitment didn’t end there.
He even made a special appearance for the music video shoot in Los Angeles.
Shaq Has Formed A Blossoming Musical Partnership
While “3 Lokos” marks the debut song for Coyote featuring Diesel (Shaq’s music alias), Ricky Blanco hinted that it’s just the beginning.
He revealed that they’ve already recorded a second song and teased the release of more tracks in the pipeline.
Interestingly, one of these includes a beat produced by the basketball legend.
Though primarily recognized for his basketball prowess, the NBA legend isn’t a novice in music.
He has collaborated with industry titans like Biggie, Jay-Z and Nas.
