‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ is moving, and its new home for Season 5 will be Peacock.
According to Deadline, the series won’t air on NBC but will be available on Peacock to stream.
With this move, the NBCUniversal streamer gets a thrilling Dick Wolf drama series to join its roster of other hit Wolf shows, including:
- Chicago Fire
- Chicago P.D.
- Chicago Med
- Law & Order
- Law & Order: SVU
What Is The Upcoming Peacock Show About?
Organized Crime follows Elliot Stabler, who returns to the NYPD as part of the Organized Crime Task Force.
The show’s darker tone and serialized storytelling is a departure from the other Dick Wolf procedurals, which has affected its popularity.
This could explain why it’s moved to Peacock from NBC.
Organized Crime is the second Law & Order series to move out of NBC.
Criminal Intent moved to USA Network for its last four seasons after spending the first six on NBC.
Other series that moved to streaming successfully include The Mindy Project (from Fox to Hulu) and Lucifer (Fox to Netflix).
Organized Crime’s first four seasons consisted of:
- Eight episodes in the first season
- 22 episodes in seasons 2 and 3 each
- 13 episodes in season 4, which concluded on May 16
