Rihanna’s history with the Met Gala
In 2015, she co-chaired the event alongside Anna Wintour, the editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine and a longtime supporter of the event. That year, she wore a stunning yellow gown by Chinese designer Guo Pei, which featured a long train that took several people to carry.
In 2018, Rihanna made headlines once again with her Met Gala look, which was designed by John Galliano for Maison Margiela.
Her outfit, which featured a papal-inspired hat and a beaded bustier, was a nod to the event’s theme that year, “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.”
Rihanna’s attendance at the Met Gala has also been notable for her after-parties, which have become legendary in their own right.
In 2017, she hosted a party at 1 Oak nightclub, where she danced and mingled with fellow celebrities until the early hours of the morning.
