According to Fox News, Rihanna is being called out on social media for allowing certain stars who are not Black women to rock braids at her third Savage X Fenty fashion show.
The show debuted on Amazon on Friday and was largely praised online for its celebration and wardrobe meant for all shapes of bodies, big and small.
However, some of the body positivity took a back seat for some when they noticed that celebrities like Vanessa Hudgens and Emily Ratajkowski were styled with braids.
Many deemed it a look exclusive to Black people and accused the show of appropriating Black culture.
It didn’t take long before many viewers took to social media to call Rihanna and the show out for its use of braids.

Recently Gigi Hadid shared in an interview what she thought about how Rihanna casting process.
She shared with Fashion United that: “The world started to catch on to holding brands and production companies accountable for the shows they were producing and who they were casting for these shows. To me, a lot of people did just enough to get by to not piss people off.”
She continued: “I think Rihanna is always one step ahead. She was doing it before a lot of brands, and in the right way, which is not just casting what she thinks needs to be cast.
Rihanna casts for the person, whether that is a huge celebrity, or a street cast, or a friend, or a person she knows. Each person is cast for who they are and not what they can do for her show.
It always feels genius and very Rihanna to put forth people that inspire her.”
What do you think about the appropriation claims?
