Sha’Carri Richardson must have woken up with some stuff on her mind today because she is all of a sudden at the center of a ton of Twitter chatter that she started with one Tweet.
Earlier today the track athlete asked the question “Honestly what does your favorite athlete do for you to like them besides from entertainment?”.
Honestly what does your favorite athlete do for you to like them besides from entertainment?

That question lead to a ton of responses, some very inspirational and others a tad bit shady.
Here are a few of the responses:
Me personally I like when athletes are kind to fans on social media, don’t get a big head, and don’t act like they are better than the sport that created them.

I don’t know if I have a favorite athlete right now, but whoever it is needs to be a good role model for society. They need to demonstrate good values and stand up for what’s right. Maybe it’s Carl Nassib. He was really brave. Maybe it’s Colin Kaepernick.

Lebron started a school, he is an amazing family man from what we see, he has built a billion dollar empire with his friends, never had any off court issues, and he is the best athlete I’ve ever seen.

he’s a genuine person off the court and on the court. Puts his ALL in every game he’s in to WIN. He has passion for everything he puts his mind to. 2x MVP, NBA Champion, NBA finals MVP, 5x ALLSTAR, and DPOY! pic.twitter.com/87VaZ72s16

Messi taught me to be humble and stay humble, no matter how good you become you must help those under you and always respect those who came before you.

Social responsibility. Use platform to share what’s relevant and purposeful. Lacks arrogance and boastfulness. But the truth is, I don’t expect them to do anything other than perform. The behavior I appreciate is the same that I appreciate in non-professional athletes.

There were quite a few mean tweets suggesting that she was forgotten until she tweeted today, and many making it known that athletes tend to win.
Sha’Carri shot back saying:
Y’all that keep saying I came last MONTHS AGO & y’all won’t see that again but has your life changed since ? Same place right ?

I never knew you existed so hush love https://t.co/aBZZmmUKRI

With that said, people continue to encourage Sha’Carri to leave the negativity and focus on her goals coming up.
One user saying:
Princess Sha Carri we’re all excited to see you in the World Championships and next Olympics keeping working and getting better! Good luck!
Another saying:
Take that energy and frustration to the track Queen. None of the people talking trash on here know what u do bts. Show ‘em and watch their voices become silenced.
People gonna talk and comment. You clapping back(while I don’t blame you) won’t shut them up. Winning will. Until then, most will keep chirping. Just ignore it as best u can
