The cost of braids is always a hot topic of discussion and we can honestly say we have seen prices ranging from $200 to $1200 depending on how a stylist decides to run her business.
Hair braider Blessing the owner of Feminine Attractions explained in detail that she is not only charging for the time it takes to do the braids, but also how many clients they are able to get done throughout the day.

One user made the point that if you aren’t going to wash the hair then they cannot justify the price.
$900 AND you’re not gonna wash my hair either?? This is getting out of hand. What is wrong with these new stylists today?! Nothing can justify this. Absolutely nothing.
Another made the point that this is considered a luxury style.
Friendly reminder, going to a professional hairstylist is a luxury. We have a history of lowballing Black businesses. That’s gotta stop. You just aren’t the patron for their services and that’s okay.
Another said that the math is mathing just a little too much:
3600 for 4 heads in a day… divided by whatever the braiders cut is and her cut… so when we run this math based off a 5 day week we looking at 800k + for a yr. Now I ain’t saying these ladies ain’t talented but damn y’all this a little excessive?she saying mind your business… ma’am it is our business because u want that ? from us. People think money just grow in trees ???♀️ and then will try to say we hating cause we think this mess is excessive ??♀️
Another countered by supporting her prices, making the point that we are always degrading true talent.
If you dont have the money is okey just come back when u have it cuz she aint lowering her prices ???? #echoing in my head but what she said is true other hair styles $45 dollars +/- times 6 = $270 for money she might loose on other clients / then the length and extra three hand needed to make it 4 hrs each braider gets $150 = $450 then there is just a $180 left as a fee for the space she be renting / taxes she needs to pay and a bit for herself for building the goodwill. Why cant we respect black peoples businesses like we do with other yall dont question CHANNEL BAGS or LOUIS VUITTON BELTS .. or BIRKINS. But want to degrade true talent and patient well YOU DO IT yourself THEN. ☺️ we still be friends no harsh feelings ✌??❤️
