Bose me up, please! Billboard and Bose recently collaborated to recognize and celebrate women in the music industry.
As part of this initiative, PinkPantheress was awarded Producer of the Year, while emerging artist Kenzie Ziegler was styled in a unique pair of Bose Ultra Open Earbuds.
These customized earbuds were specially crafted by renowned jewelry designer Maggi Simpkins, who has a long-standing partnership with Billboard, creating custom pieces for both fans and award recipients at Women in Music events since 2022.
Tech .. Let me introduce you to FASHION!
Moment of confession, we did not come across these earbuds via Maggi, but rather on LinkedIn.
Ashley Tate did a deep dive into the effectiveness of marrying tech with fashion, or more specifically the girly girl aesthetic sprinkled with a little quiet luxury.
In her post she said:
Can we talk about how Bose Corporation is killing the game by merging TECH with FASHION
When was the last time you thought about wearing Bose headphones to brunch? Exactly
The last time I thought about Bose, I pictured headphones being tossed across a gaming chair while LED lights illuminated my brother’s room.
Yet, Bose is making sure to include more feminine aesthetics within their brand, and I am HERE for it
Here’s why all of this works seamlessly together to create a brand for femme fashionistas to flock to:
Catering to an era of aesthetics
In an era where the gworls are looking for their next “clean girl” or “mob wife” aesthetic, EVERY detail matters. From the drop of a curl to the perfect amount of blush or the best-tailored blazer to go with biker shorts, this generation is hellbent on keeping their aesthetic intact.
Some will even go as far as not wearing AirPods in public because it doesn’t fit their “vibe.”
Yet, these elaborate jewels made by iconic artist and jewelry designer maggi simpkins look like a new pricey pair of earrings wrapped around your ear. The placement of the jewels is genius, truly hiding the fact that headphones are there.
Partnerships that please the “female gaze”
The inclusion of women and girls within the brand doesn’t stop at design. With advertisements and sponsored interviews that include artists like Anne Marie, Wiffy Griffey, Arya Starr, and Sofia Valdez, every type of woman sees themselves as someone Bose places in the conversation.
Not only do they push brand awareness by positioning themselves to be known by each artist’s following, but they create a genuine relationship by continually highlighting women within the same demographic, making these audiences feel catered to.
Showcasing Products like Accessories
Let’s also look into the way Bose products are presented on the feed. They aren’t just propped up against a metallic background or randomly placed in the air to contribute to an “otherworldly effect.”
Bose presents their headphones in motion, on a diverse range of artists and everyday consumers to show that they can be worn as accessories rather than shown as objects.
We couldn’t agree more, because the girlies absolutely love these.
When tech gives fashion a seat at the table.

So excited to finally share these custom earbuds I created in collaboration with @bose for the @billboard Women In Music red carpet- worn by the beautiful @kenzie.
I replaced the original plate with a solid gold plate and designed diamond clusters inspired by some of my favorite signature motifs.
I had so much fun making these and am pretty blown away with how they turned out. I love when I am able to collaborate and play across industries- in this case mixing fine jewelry with technology (and most importantly music!!).
Swipe to see them in action on the red carpet- and some behind the scenes production photos.

The earbuds are stunning and we cannot wait to see more brands start to stretch their seams a bit beyond “Just make it pink” and create products that embrace certain aesthetics, especially women!
How much do they cost you ask?
They aren’t listed on the Bose website so right now cost is up in the air.
Would you wear these? Let us know!
