Common, Tiffany Haddish’s ex-boyfriend, has gotten dragged into her court battle with ex-friend Trizah Morris.
Morris is suing Haddish for defamation after Haddish accused her of extortion.
According to RadarOnline.com, Common and two Haddish attorneys will be on Morris’ witness list in the ongoing arbitration battle.
Morris believes that when certain events happened relevant to the case, Common was with Haddish.
Common And Tiffany Haddish Split In 2021
Common and Haddish dated from August 2020 but broke up in November 2021.
The split was mutual, according to the rapper, and he revealed that the pair still had affection for each other.
However, Haddish had other thoughts; she felt the breakup was “was more him saying, ‘I think this relationship has run its course.'”
The Girls’ Trip star had requested the case to move out of the public eye, and a judge granted her wish.
The comedian had revealed that Morris signed an agreement stating their disputes would be heard in arbitration instead of state court.
However, Morris insisted that this only happened under duress.
Morris accused Haddish’s team of bullying her until she signed the agreement–she wanted the court to discard it.
Morris was friends with Haddish between 2011 and 2020.
Morris allegedly started by trying to resolve the issue, but she later sued both Haddish and Aries Spears in a now-dismissed lawsuit in 2022.
In her lawsuit, she accused the comedians of grooming her as a child and making her appear in inappropriate sketches.
Both comedians refuted the accusations and Haddish’s attorney insisted this was an extortion attempt from Morris.
“Plaintiff’s mother, Trizah Morris, has been trying to assert these bogus claims against Ms. Haddish for several years.”
Morris, however, has flat-out denied the extortion claims.
