TJ Holmes was hesitant to air the fight he had with Amy Robach on their podcast because he “knew” racist commentary was inevitable.
“It is going to I fear be viewed as a black man beating up on a white woman. Obviously, I was not yelling, screaming or doing anything.”
According to Page Six, 50-year-old Robach was “shocked” because she has never considered race an issue in their relationship.
“There have been a lot of things that I have learned personally … that would never have crossed my mind. Race, the fact that you’re black and I’m white, would’ve never crossed my mind, and that’s kind of to your point.”
Robach revealed that, as a white woman in a relationship with a black man, there’s a “constant learning curve.”
“It never crossed my mind that there would be any racial element to this.”
TJ Holmes Knew The Comments Would Be Savage
Even though 46-year-old TJ Holmes knew what to expect, the comments on their argument still left him “scared to speak my mind.”
During the episode, the couple openly discussed their communication issues–Robach even called him out on being moody during his “really bad days.”
“What I’d love for you to do is to confide in me, to lean on me, to share with me so that we’re a part of the solution together.”
But TJ Holmes revealed that when times are tough, he doesn’t want to “tell you what I need.”
The feud made fans wonder if TJ Holmes and Amy Robach would break up, but the duo insisted they were still together.
“Hey, folks, just wanted to check in and let you know that despite what you’ve been hearing, we are still together.” Holmes
“… our larger goal in putting out our latest episode was to show that, yes, we like to put pictures of us smiling like everyone else and laughing on social media, but if we wanna be real, and we wanna be transparent.” Robach
