Mainstream media has lost its collective minds over Travis Kelce’s “innovative” hairdo.
The hairstyle looks familiar because it’s literally a fade.
Despite that, many outlets have credited Taylor Swift’s boo with being the first person in the history of humanity to think of such a hairstyle.
@jeffcutshairsTravis Kelce Haircut! My brother in law walked into the shop today wanting me to perform a miracle. @taylorswift who’s hotter? Mike or Travis?♬ original sound – Jeff Dugas | Saint John Barber
According to The New York Times, a barber in New Brunswick, Canada’s Obsidian Barbers revealed customers are lining up to get a fresh cut that mirrors Kelce.

The NY Times reported barbers are excited that their clients are passionate about this hairstyle, but they are worried not everyone can pull it off.
“Every canvas can’t take every type of hair. The Travis Kelce haircut looks good on more square-type head shapes and people with stronger jaws.” Nigel Miller, a barber at Fresh Avenue Grooming and Style in Birmingham, Ala
Miller added that it can really change a person’s look.
“People who come in and get it, a lot of times they have long, straight hair, and it’s a drastic transformation.”
This is how cultural appropriation works.
Same thing happened when white women got braids & cornrows & these folks called it “new” & “bold” when black women did it for centuries!

Dear @nytimes, @people, barbers and consumers across America, this is called a ‘FADE,’ not ‘the Travis Kelce.’
I, and other Black men have been getting fades from our barbers since before Travis or his barber were born.
