Bad news for Tyla fans.
According to People, the “Water” singer has canceled her upcoming concert tour after revealing she’s been dealing with an injury that has worsened.
“As much as this is something I would rather have dealt with privately, it’s important that I share what I have to share with you today. For the past year I’ve been silently suffering with an injury that has tragically worsened,” wrote Tyla, 22. “I’ve seen doctors and specialists with high hopes but the pain has only become more agonizing as has the severity of the situation.”
The performer continued:
“I am absolutely heartbroken to have to say this but as of right now I won’t be able to proceed with the tour. In consulting with medical professionals it’s become increasingly clear that continuing any festival or tour dates would jeopardize my long-term health and safety.”
“Words cannot describe my frustration at this pivotal point in my career. So please know that my team and I are working diligently on a spectacular show for you as soon as I am recovered and ready to return safely onstage this summer.”
The singer concluded by telling North American fans their “tickets will automatically be refunded.”

Tyla’s self-titled debut album comes out on March 22; a day after her global tour would have started.
According to her statement, we should be on the lookout for “new dates and information.”
Tyla shot to stardom last year with hit single “Water,” which earned her the first-ever Grammy Award for best African music performance.
Her music was heavily influenced by her home country’s popular genres, including amapiano, afrobeats, and house Kwaito.
“I knew that I wanted my culture in [my music]. I made my first amapiano song ‘Getting Late’ and added pop and R&B melodies to it. With ‘Water’ I’d describe it as the perfect blend. Being from South Africa is the reason why my sound is what it is.”
