OJ Simpson passed away on April 10 at 76 after a long battle with prostate cancer.
However, according to RadarOnline.com, the claims that his kids and grandkids surrounded him are vastly exaggerated.
OJ Simpson’s Attorney Disputed The Online Claims
Simpson’s attorney, Malcolm LaVergne, disclosed that only one “close family member” was by Simpson’s side in his final moments.
“You have to remember that they’ve shared OJ with the world their entire lives. At first they shared good OJ But still he was famous. And then, in 1994 on, they kind of had to share bad boy OJ with the world.”
“But at the end of the day, these children just lost a father. And they have the added burden that he is one of the most famous people on the planet, and who is polarizing and who is surrounded by controversy.”
In 1995, OJ Simpson was acquitted of killing Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson in a highly publicized trial.
Despite the acquittal, Simpson was found liable for their deaths, and he consequently owed their respective families millions of dollars.
In 2008, Simpson attempted a robbery but failed.
He was charged with felony charges, including robbery and kidnapping, and was sent to prison until July 2017, when he received parole.
LaVerge revealed that his last detailed conversation with OJ Simpson was just before Easter.
“He was awake, alert and chilling… He’s on the couch … drinking a beer and watching TV. And so that was the last time we had effective back-and-forth conversations. He’s usually the one who keeps me up on the news … so we were just catching up on the news then.”
