Britnney Spears might cut up every now and again on Instagram but make no mistake, her Prenup is air tight.
On Thursday news broke that Sam Asghari allegedly threatened to release “extraordinarily embarrassing” information about Brittney Spears if she did not agree to renegotiate their prenup.
He has since denied any such allegation.
According to PEOPLE Asghari’s rep, Brandon Cohen from BAC Talent, sent over a statement:
“There are many claims that Sam is challenging the prenup and threatening to exploit his ex-wife with videos,” he said. “However, all these claims are false, as no negative intention has ever been directed towards her and never will be. Sam has always and will always support her.”
About the prenup
According to TMZ Sam gets no payout in the event of divorce.
Additionally, the prenup precludes him from getting spousal support.
He can keep the gifts Britney gave him and his cars, but that’s about it.
sources say there’s an “extensive confidentiality clause” in the prenup, prohibiting Sam from talking about his relationship with Britney.
So on the surface, it seems Sam’s getting nothing of significance.
Sam’s lawyer, Neal Hersh, filed divorce docs which ask for spousal support.
Given the prenup precludes such support, Hersh’s move signals a challenge to the prenup.
There are other elements of the divorce filing suggesting a challenge … writing about community and quasi-community property.
On his Instagram Sam said that after 6 years of love and commitment the couple decided to end their journey together.
“AFTER 6 YEARS OF LOVE AND COMMITMENT TO EACH OTHER MY WIFE AND I HAVE DECIDED TO END OUR JOURNEY TOGETHER,” he said, alluding to their split. “WE WILL HOLD ONTO THE LOVE AND RESPECT WE HAVE FOR EACH OTHER AND I WISH HER THE BEST ALWAYS.”
“S— HAPPENS,” he continued.
ASKING FOR PRIVACY SEEMS [RIDICULOUS] SO I WILL JUST ASK FOR EVERYONE … TO BE KIND AND THOUGHTFUL.”
