Alfonso Ribeiro has revealed, in no uncertain terms, that he’s not considering working with Tyler Perry to get his career back on track.
According to Closer Weekly, the former Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star shared that his career stalled after he played Carlton Banks.
“It was one of the greatest roles that I ever was fortunate enough to play, but it was also the role that stopped me from acting again because people couldn’t see me as anything else.”
On May 28, an X user came up with the idea that Perry should reach out to Ribeiro.
“@tylerperry needs to revamp @alfonso_riberio career, I just know he could.”
Alfonso Ribeiro Isn’t Interested In Working With Tyler Perry
However, Ribeiro answered:
“I don’t need or ever want that man to do anything for me.”
Ribeiro’s answer was intense, and he didn’t shed light on where the beef came from.
However, if you check out Ribeiro’s IMDb page, you’ll see that he has twelve directing credits on Perry’s Meet the Browns.
So, it’s possible the two worked together and clashed.
For now, Ribeiro hosts Dancing With the Stars.
