Variety reported Friday that Drake and SZA have their first collaboration ever, a song called “Slime You Out” where the former couple used a picture of Halle Berry for promotion.
Ahead of Drake’s eighth studio album “For All the Dogs,” the Canadian-born rapper has recruited SZA for their first in-studio collaboration, “Slime You Out.”
The single was released on Friday morning and is co-produced by Drake and OVO signee Noel Cadastre. The single includes lyrics like “I’m slimin’ you for them kid choices you made,” which provide a clear explanation for the album artwork that the duo shared on Instagram a few days ago.
Drake tagged SZA in an image of Halle Berry covered in green slime at the 2012 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards and the R&B singer subsequently reposted the track’s cover art, affirming rumors that she would be featured on the single.
Halle however is not too happy that her picture is being used for the song.
On Instagram, the actress wrote “Sometimes you have to be the bigger guy..even of you’re a woman”
While the post itself did not call anyone out specifically, she did confirm she was referring to Drake in her comment section.
Insider reported that she responded to a user who asked her for her “thoughts” on Drake using her photo by saying:
“Didn’t get my permission. That’s not cool I thought better of him !”
“Hence my post today. When people you admire disappoint you you have to be the bigger person and move on !” she added.
To another user’s comment, she wrote that the issue was “about principles and integrity” and that she was “happy” many of her fans got where she was coming from.
Berry also questioned “exactly” what “Slime You” meant in her response to another user who said they would be “more upset” about what the song was inferring.
Despite her frustration, the “X-Men” star suggested that she would not be taking legal action against the rapper after one fan suggested she “take em to court.”
“I’m not interested in suing my people I just wish these men out here would give women the respect we deserve,” Berry wrote.
Drake and SZA are still using the picture on their respective Instagrams.
