Kevin Hart wants a temporary restraining order to make blogger Tasha K take down her video interviewing his former assistant Miesha Shakes.
According to RadarOnline.com, the video is packed with defamatory claims that have put his career and reputation on the line.
Last month, Hart sued Miesha and Tasha over the Interview.
He accused Miesha of making false claims about him.
Hart added that before the video went up, one of Tasha’s associates offered not to post it if he paid $250K.
However, Hart refused and called the cops.
Kevin Hart Did Not Allow To Be Extorted
The video went up, and Kevin’s lawyer sent Tasha a cease-and-desist.
Kevin Hart then filed a lawsuit for defamation and civil extortion.
The lawsuit alleges that:
“[Tasha] has an established history of posting defamatory and otherwise improper content regarding celebrities.”
The comedian claimed that the allegations have damaged his career.
“Working in the entertainment industry, my livelihood depends in large part on my reputation and the public’s perception of me. That perception is of particular concern in light of the fact that I am involved in a number of family-oriented projects, such as the Jumanji franchise, Fatherhood, Captain Underpants, the Secret Life of Pets, and others.”
“I also endorse various national brands, and those endorsement deals depend in part on a public perception of my reputation, respectability, and character.”
Kevin Hart revealed that Miesha was his assistant between August 2017 and October 2020.
As part of Miesha’s exit agreement, she wanted Hart to pay her $30,000 per year and sort her health insurance for three years.
But he refused.
“After my refusal to pay, the Interview was published. After its publication, I watched the Interview and saw that, in addition to discussing private matters in breach of the NDA, Shakes made statements about me that were simply false, including that I supposedly made a secret video recording of a sexual encounter and faced criminal charges regarding that supposed incident. I did not record any such video, and I have never faced criminal charges in connection with that alleged incident or any related matters.”
Kevin Hart isn’t the only celebrity who has beef with Tasha K.
Cardi B is also trying to get $4 million from a defamation judgment she won against Tasha.
