I may be a little out of the loop, but did you know Alicia Keys has her very own skincare brand? Yup! In September of last year, the artist and activist launched Keys Soulcare in partnership with certified dermatologist Dr. Renee Snyder.
After vowing to go makeup-free in 2016, Keys has been one of the biggest advocates for fearless self-love and being healthy in mind, body, and soul—so this wellness-centered brand is right on time. A refreshingly honest and authentic take on skincare, Keys Soulcare aims to nourish you from the inside-out.
Not only do they offer basic skincare essentials such as antioxidant-rich Golden Cleanser and ultra-moisturizing Skin Transformation Cream, but they also offer candles, facial rollers, and more recently, body care.
One thing that really caught my eye was their rituals. Rituals are skincare bundles that don’t just offer a basic routine—they give you the full experience. The cool thing about the Soulcare rituals is that they are organized based on your specific wants and needs.
They offer skincare rituals for everything from meditation and relaxation to self-love and acceptance. And while I could probably benefit from all of them, the one that I fell in love with was the Soulmate Ritual.
The concept behind it is completely unique; Inspired by the relationship Keys has with her husband, Swizz Beatz, the Soulmate Ritual was created to help us “love on yourself and your special someone with [a] soulcare kind of lovin’.”
That’s right—you can use the ritual as a way to deeply reconnect with yourself, or use it during your nighttime routine with your special someone as a way to create deeper bonding and intimacy. Now that is something you don’t find in skincare very often, if ever.
Aside from the dope concept, they have some pretty great items in this particular bundle. While everything from the delicious-smelling Sage + Oat Milk candle to the gentle exfoliator was fire, I took it upon myself to self to select the top 3 products that really make this ritual worth the investment.
Keys Soulcare Golden Cleanser, ($20)
Formulated with super-hydrating Manuka honey and calming turmeric, this wash gives your skin the deep cleansing it needs. It does a really good job of removing dirt, makeup, and other impurities that collect on our faces throughout the day.
While the ingredients are powerful, the cleanser is gentle—working itself into a silky lather and then leaving your skin calm and balanced as it rinses away. The best part? It’s suitable for all skin types.
Keys Soulcare Reviving Aura Mist , ($22)
What is the one thing most of us forget to do during our skincare routine? Use toner! Keys Skincare made sure we’ll never miss this step again with their revitalizing rose water and witch hazel Aura Mist. I’m telling you girl, this stuff is bomb.
You spritz it on your face right after you wash it to make sure you’ve removed any dirt or impurities that may have been left behind. And then, you spray it on your face again after you moisturize because it also helps lock in the moisture overnight.
Keys Soulcare Comforting Balm, ($12)
This Comforting Balm is a great addition to your skincare routine because it’s super versatile; It’s like a body butter, lip balm, and face salve all in one. It’s ultra-lightweight and blended with clean, nourishing ingredients such as shea butter and camellia seed oil.
You can rub it all over problem areas—like rough elbows and chapped lips—or you can apply a thin layer of the balm all over your face (and body!) to seal in hydration after you wash your face, or immediately after your shower.
