Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s charity foundation was declared delinquent and ordered to stop spending or raising money.
According to Page Six, the royal duo have let their charity Archewell’s registration fees lapse.
Rob Bonta, California’s attorney general, made the announcement.
In his official document, Bonta listed Archewell as “delinquent” for not submitting its registration fees and annual report.
According to the note:
“An organization that is listed as delinquent is not in good standing and is prohibited from engaging in conduct for which registration is required, including soliciting or disbursing charitable funds. The organization may also be subject to penalties and its registration may be suspended or revoked by the Registry.”
To save itself, Archewell should submit recordings explaining why its payments are late and then pay late fees.
What’s Up With Prince Harry And Meghan Markle’s Charity?
The royals’ foundation allegedly filed for an extension but later sent a check to the AG’s office that wasn’t received.
However, they have issued a new one, which should get them back on track after processing.
The royal couple formed the foundation in March 2020 after they quit their royal duties.
They also own for-profit businesses, Archewell Productions and Archewell Audio.
