Former NBA player Rajon Rondo was arrested over the weekend in Indiana.
According to Vibe, Rondo was given misdemeanor charges for unlawfully possessing marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm.
The 37-year-old was pulled over on January 29 for a traffic violation.
But when the state trooper approached the vehicle, he smelled weed and searched it.
Rajon Rondo Isn’t Allowed To Possess Guns
The state trooper found a gun and drug paraphernalia in Rajon Rondo’s car and took him to a Jackson County jail.
The two-time NBA Champion isn’t allowed to possess a gun because of a no-contact order from an incident in 2022 with a woman.
Rondo threatened the woman, which made her fear for her life and her children’s safety.
The woman accused Rajon Rondo of having “volatile, erratic [and] explosive behavior.”
She filed a protective order against the former NBA star in Louisville, KY.
However, the courts dismissed the case after both “parties reached an agreement.”
Rondo’s NBA career spanned 16 seasons, with stints for:
- Boston Celtics
- Dallas Mavericks
- Sacramento Kings
- Chicago Bulls
- New Orleans Pelicans
- Los Angeles Lakers
- Atlanta Hawks
- Los Angeles Clippers
- Cleveland Cavaliers
The point guard was instrumental to most of these teams, especially the 2007-2008 Celtics and 2019-2020 Lakers rosters.
