Sheryl Lee Ralph’s two kids, Ivy and Ivy Maurice, teamed up with their cousin, Marley Ralph, to open a wellness studio offering yoga classes.
WalkGood Yard is a space catering to all yoga enthusiasts.
It launched when Etienne Maurice, sister Ivy Maurice, and cousin Marley Ralph–a yoga instructor–planned a march during the unrest around George Floyd’s tragic death.
Shortly after the march, the siblings hosted more wellness events in and around Los Angeles.
Eventually, Sheryl Ralph Lee’s kids made it official and opened WalkGood LA.

Etienne hosted weekly yoga sessions on Sundays at a local park in the early days.
He targeted BIPOC individuals affected by racism, offering a safe space.
And it worked as he often got around 450 participants.
He kept this up for four years and countless events until he eventually partnered with his sister and cousin to launch the business.
You can find WalkGood Yard close to L.A. Memorial Park, near their childhood home.
Etienne also chose the location because it has a rich history of Black business owners and homeowners.
He wanted to reclaim that heritage by becoming the area’s newest Black business owner.
Etienne revealed his ambitions in an interview with LA List.
“Here we are, years later, a Black-owned organization, a Black-owned building trying to bring that same spirit of entrepreneurship, but with healing attached to it. I think this is going to be the start of something that I’ve really envisioned for the city of L.A. to make some real change in this community.”
The studio has photos of Sheryl Lee Ralph and their family.
“It reminds me of home, and for me, home is Los Angeles by the way of Jamaica.”
