Summer Walker is not letting her sickness stop the show! The 27-year-old R&B singer is currently the main act at the Souled Out festival in Australia and New Zealand.
However, a source close to Summer informed TMZ that she contracted bronchitis a few days before her performance in Auckland, New Zealand and refused medical attention.
On Thursday, Summer posted a video of herself on the Souled Out stage, revealing that she was unwell, stating,
“I just wanted to let you know that I’ve got bronkiki, I’ve got bronchitis. But we’re still going to perform tonight, we’re still going to have a good time, right?”
According to the same source speaking to TMZ, Summer reportedly “doesn’t beleive in modern medicine” and has opted for a combination of herbal remedies and teas to alleviate her throat discomfort.
Additionally, she is adhering to strict vocal rest, limiting her speech until the performances begin.
Summer’s previous statements regarding health-related matters appear consistent with her approach to dealing with bronchitis.
Even though it is entirely Summer’s choice how she wants to treat her own illness, people on social media are confused about her decision.
Many of them calling her out for having multiple surgeries that would in fact require some form of medication.
